Flood and Coastal Risk Communities come together to share experience and build resilience

Ambiental is glad to announce that we shall be exhibiting at this year’s Flood and Coast Conference  being held between 28th – 30th March 2017. This annual UK event at the Telford International Centre UK brings together professionals from across the flood industry. Ambiental will be exhibiting and presenting at the event to share information on our flood risk analytics and environmental assessment products.

Rapid Flood Monitoring Technologies

Ambiental will be exhibiting at stand A14 near the main entrance and showcasing our technologies on Tuesday the 28th, including our new rapid flood monitoring service. This technology has been developed following our recent research and development project under the Space for Smarter Government Programme (SSGP). We will be exhibiting at this event alongside our technological partners Telespazio Vega UK who provide satellite based SAR flood detection data inputs to Ambiental’s GIS modelled flood extent data layers.

Future Flood Scenarios for Climate Change Adaption

Ambiental will also be presenting alongside Landmark Information Group in showcasing our work on modelling future flood climate change scenarios. Our innovative new FloodFutures™ dataset uses future projected probabilistic climate scenarios and precision flood modelling to identify future flood risk concerns. This information will be a useful tool for UK flood risk analysis professionals and infrastructure managers to plan and adapt through understanding the increasing risk of flooding predicted in the future.

Flood and Coast Conference 2017 is a three-day event featuring a packed programme of presentations and exhibitors, providing many opportunities to gain knowledge and network with industry professionals. Ambiental will be at the event for all three days so we hope to see you there if you are attending this year. The exhibition is free to attend and tickets for the conference are available here. Ambiental staff will be on hand to discuss our international flood data models, our flood risk consultancy capabilities, as well as our wide range of services tailored for specific customer groups, such as Lead Local Flood Authorities and Housing Associations.

A broad range of perspectives on innovation and best practice

Deputy Director of Strategy at the Environment Agency and Chair of the Advisory Committee Clare Dinnis says of the conference that “this is a fantastic opportunity for the flood and coastal risk community to come together to share the latest in delivery and research, learn from one another’s experiences, and build resilience through connections. After the success of the first event in 2016 we are delighted to return with a programme developed by a range of flood and coastal risk management partners, including professionals involved in scheme design and delivery as well as public authorities and community groups that help to plan and build resilience to flooding.”
